Yoo Man-soo is fired from the company where he has worked for over 20 years. His only chance to keep himself and his family from losing its bourgeois status quo is to win a competition for shop foreman; and he will make any decision, even drastic ones, should he lose this opportunity too. With the cynicism and frenzy that have characterized him since his debut, Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook grips the viewer with a captivating and uncompromising satire on the hypocrisy of a working world that capitalism pushes toward the annihilation of all ethics. With a frenetic and acrobatic style, the director of Sympathy for Lady Vengeance and Old Boy spares no one, and refuses to be moved by a humanity that no longer believes in anything.
